Sassy Peach

This past week was the spare bathroom make over. It's still coming along but thought I'd share some pics! We got brand new tile floor, new vanity/sink, light fixtures, toilet, towel racks, and wall color.

I could only find one "before" picture. Can you say hideous??? (Imagine my face seeing this for the first time. YEA.)

I am typically terrified of color. In clothing, decor, fabrics, etc. Hence why 3/4 of our walls are grey. However, I have to admit I love a pop of unexpected color in a bathroom.

We tried to go for a pale peach/orange color but ended up with an INTENSE peach/orange. It's definitely got some sass to it. So, instead of buying new paint and re-doing it, I decided to take on the challenge and try to decorate it so that it was not only bearable, but cute!

Got a toned-down shower curtain with a subtle pattern in the same color pallet to attempt to ground the color.

New vanity and mirror!

Went with art that is textured and has some shine! Love shine and metallics in a bathroom.

No detail is too small right?? Check out the fabulous new tile and the funky vent cover! Love it!!

With the art and the accessories I wanted to show that I wasn't afraid of the Sassy Peach and could embrace the color. So went with some peachy pink accents to pull it together.

It's still a work in progress, and I'm not sure I'll go with the same color in the future. But for an amateur decorator, I think we made it work! Our guests will just get a little JOLT of color upon entrance :)

Now to keep cleaning and planning for the NYE party! Will share pictures next week!

Have a fabulous weekend loves!

Confessional Friday

A couple things. First, sorry about the hiatus. Work kicked my rear end and I was off the social grid for the past week and a half. Now trying to get back into the swing of things. I thought this week would be super chill and give me plenty of time to blog. Wrong! The follow-up from Convention has been a lot more work than anticipated. BUT, just have to get to Friday at noon and I'm home free until Jan 2!

Secondly, I just decided that we are hosting a NYE party at our house! Which means I need some drinks and decor ideas, stat! I'm thinking shine/sparkle/glamour theme (shocker). Pinterest, here I come. Any ideas?? Comment below or email me (left).

Hopefully I can get back into the twitter world as well:

Finally, if you want to follow my blog, just look to your right and click "Join this Site". Then it will show up in the blogs you subscribe to on Google! Fun times.

On that note, I confess...

~ That I cannot recall when my last hair appointment was. Therefore, my roots are about 3 inches long. I've been lying that I'm trying out the ombre effect, but really, my hair just looks ridic. Getting fixed on Christmas Eve, peeps!

~ That I ate an entire 10 inch cheese bread from Papa Johns last night by myself. And finished it off with 2 pieces of dark chocolate.

~ That I haven't worked out since work got crazy and the time changed so it started getting dark at 5pm. Sooo like October? Fully plan to start back up in January! (Says every single person on this planet.)

~ That for some reason I absolutely love wrapping presents. And I love making bows from the left over scraps.

Clearly I was out of double-sided wrapping paper but couldn't resist!

~ That even though I complain about how much Convention is hard work, I love the challenge and the rewarding feeling I get when it is all over.

~ That I'm actually glad Gossip Girl is coming to an end just so Chuck and Blair can finally be together! (At least, it better end up that way!!)

~ That my girl, Amanda, and I have entire text message conversations in all hashtags. #yesimbeingserious #donthatetheplayerhatethegame

Peace out, girl scouts!

Have a good weekend and Merry Christmas!!

MY Denis the Menace

A few days ago, I read this post from my dear friend, Vegetarian in the Ville. She got her first taste of being a parent when her precious little pit got sick! She had to stay up all night taking care of her, the poor thing. This was an interesting parenting lesson for someone who has chosen to not have kids.

Little did I know, I would be getting my own little parenting lesson just a couple days later. The key detail is, while Ms. Ville has chosen not to go the route of spit up and diapers (at least from a human), I DO plan to have kids. (In the far future.) SO, that makes me much more afraid of this little sneak peak.

Meet: Oliver Senior, aka Ollie, aka Walter, aka (newly) Denis the Menace

Look at that playful little boy

So sweet and innocent!

Pictured here with Oliver Junior

"Wake up, Mom"

I mean who couldn't love this snuggle bug??

Ollie typically spends all day outside, and comes in at night to take all of my space snuggle in bed. Well yesterday, Tim received a letter from the Home Owners Association (HOA) regarding our "yellow tabby kitty". And they continued to refer to him in the letter as "kitty". What grown person uses that word?

Anyway, apparently he's been terrorizing the dogs in the neighborhood. (I've seen him go after them hissing instead of just running away), he's climbing on cars, sleeping on cars, and who knows what else. The letter just said they've "had some complaints" and that they request he stays inside.

Why do I feel like my child just got called to the principle's office?

Now the test of mother-hood. My first reaction: This is my child! How dare you tell me he can't go outside! Just because he's not scared of dogs, he shouldn't be punished for sticking up for himself!

Tad dramatic much? Oh dear, I'm going to be one of those....

Next reaction: Well I wouldn't want someones cat sleeping on my car and potentially scratching it. But Ollie loves being outside. Keeping him inside would be miserable for him and us. He would just cry at the door.

Tim's initial reaction: *BLEEP* *BLEEP*...HOA....*BLEEP*

Oh dear, he's going to be one of those...

Anyway, the person writing the letter wants Tim to call him to discuss. THAT should be interesting. Not sure anything is going to get resolved. If only Ollie wasn't such a menace out there!!! He's so chill and sweet at home! Maybe we'll just keep him in more often or only let him out at night... who knows.

This is only a GLIMPSE of the struggles of parenting. This isn't even technically my cat and I'm pulling the "how dare you speak about my baby like that!" SHEESH

At least I have a LONG time to worry about that issue. I still think cats and dogs are way cuter than babies at this point :)

Except Athena.... but I'm biased :)

>>I will be at our annual Convention for work over the next week and a half! Working full days non-stop and no sleep! Sooo don't expect a new post anytime soon. Back after the craziness! Enjoy your weekend, lovelies!
