I’m back! Sorry I haven't been making a regular appearance lately but remember that big news I talked about the last time I guest blogged? Well, I can finally share with you that I have recently moved to Columbia, South Carolina to take the Director of Volleyball Operations job at the University of South Carolina! I’ve been here for exactly 8 days and I have loved every minute of it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Kentucky girl through and through and have never been this far away from home but this is a dream for me.
Because I’m in a new city, that means I’m in a new apartment! Which means tons of opportunities to make fun Pinterest inspired recipes, décor, etc. Over the next several weeks my guest posts will feature small things I did to my place based on things I found on Pinterest!
I love to cook therefore I spend some quality time with the kitchen. I’m a ridiculously organized person so I like to have things neat and in a place. More often than not, the kitchen sink can become a total cluster. Hand soap here, dish soap there…scrub in the sink – you get my drift.
On the drive down to South Carolina, mom and I talked about some of the Pinterest things I found that I wanted to do with my place. So as soon as we got my lease signed and I could move in (I cannot tell you how unbelievably smooth this process has been! That could be another post for another day!), we headed out to shop. I am not lying when I tell you this: there is a Pier 1, Bed Bath and Beyond, World Market and Target no more than .5 miles from my apartment. (Help me, I’m [now] poor!)
We got the materials for this craft all at World Market, and all for less than $10. (If you’ve never been to a World Market, it’s probably one of the most unique stores I’ve been to – check it out)
All you need is a small cake stand and either a dish rag or we used small cocktail napkins:
Simply place the napkin/rag over the cake platter and set your kitchen items on top! This simple idea helps keep the things off the sink and in one collective spot. *Mom insisted we go with the maroon color for the Gamecocks – she’s precious*

And for your viewing pleasure, a Harlem Shake video. I seriously cannot get enough of these (go ahead, call me crazy)!
