I love summer because life gets hectic, but with exciting stuff! First, this past weekend: (Sorry, I was struggs on photo taking this weekend)

A lot of this weekend was spent house hunting! Our place sold!! YAY! So now we have to find somewhere to go!

Saturday was Piper's birthday! This loveable fur ball is one year old! We've had her about 5 months and just love her to death. She's such a goober! So, for her bday on Saturday we took her to the dog park and Petsmart and got her some yummy treats!

Saturday night we went to a little church festival with some friends. It was rainy, but we had a great time. Funnel cakes, bingo, carny rides.. I mean.. who wouldn't have fun, right??

Yesterday was more house hunting and I think we have found the one! Let the negotiations begin...

And since we are now dealing with the moving process, I have some not-so-great news. The one thing I've learned about selling/buying is that you can't control when it's going to happen. And it just so happens the busy packing and moving period will fall RIGHT when my 10K training is imperative and the moving DAY may be only a couple days before race day and the 4th of July holiday weekend.

Needless to say, it's not ideal. We will be beast-mode packing for the next few weeks and I think the stress of that while trying to train for this seemingly impossible distance might just send me into a tailspin.

Therefore, I've decided to NOT run the 4th of July 10K. I am looking for another one that is later in the summer. I found one on July 20, and that one may work.

I HATE setting a goal and then giving up on it. HATE HATE HATE it. But, I can't be stubborn and try to do this when I know I'll just be miserable and not enjoy June at all.

SO, I'll keep you updated! But as far as I'm concerned, I'm still sticking as close to training schedule as I can so I can be that much more prepared for whichever 10K I find.

Other points to note:

  • I opened the door of the truck directly into my knee yesterday. That door is NO JOKE and I think the bruise is going to be one for the record books.
  • Piper ran into the screen door yesterday when T was grilling. She clearly gets her poise from her mother.
  • 10K training has been harder than I thought. A more detailed post to come about this later in the week.
  • I decided to start mixing in more career posts. I started this blog to not only document my life, but to talk about female issues and career advice, lessons, etc. I want to get back to that! So stay tuned!
  • Last night I switched out all my winter clothes/shoes and pulled out all my summer wear that was in storage! I swear it's like I just went shopping! And what a great feeling when all my shorts from last year fit! I also have 3 big bags to donate. I love purging!
  • We're going to Mexico! We recently booked a trip for the end of summer with several other couples and I couldn't be more excited!!!! I can't wait to get away for a week, stick my toes in the sand and sip on  some beverages with great people!
  • Tomorrow is my Dad's birthday. Happy Birthday to the best father in the entire world and the most influential person in my life! LOVE YOU DADDY!

Anddd... Because Helene is crazy enough to show us how to make our own gifs... you all are forced to see this...

OK enough word vomiting... Sorry for the randomness this early Monday morning!
