15 Things I'm Bad At

Photo: (Heights aren't my thing, OK?)

1. Remembering things. I think I've mentioned my very poor memory on here before. If someone reminds me of something I can remember it, but it's hard for me to recall things.

2. Cooking. Exhibit A. Exhibit B.

3. Doing things without a set plan. I plan for a living. Planning is my career. So, I guess it's not surprising that it's crept into my personal life. Jan 1st you'll see me with a year calendar marking in dates.

4. Common knowledge. Sometimes I do really ditzy things and Tim will say I have no common sense. But actually, I do have good common sense. I just lack some common knowledge that other people seem to have accumulated. Like you're always suppose to drain the meat.

5. Texting/Calling you when I get home. For years my mother will say "text me when you get home!" and for years she'll call me 3 hours after I've arrived home in a panic. Oops.

6. Turning off lights when I leave a room. What can I say? I know it's important cause you're wasting money and energy, but I like the light! My Dad would always come into the basement when I was down there with every single light on and say, "Are we landing planes down here?!?!"

7. Driving a stick shift. I'm athletic and coordinated. But the one time I tried on a Jetta in a parking lot was an epic fail. Just couldn't get my mind, hands, and feet to cooperate. I'll stick with an automatic.

8. Remembering names. I need to start repeating names when I meet someone and really paying attention. Otherwise it's gone in 2 seconds.

9. Video games. You know those "Call of Duty" types? I can't figure out the controls that simultaneously spin you from left to right and up and down. My guy just ends up walking around like he's drunk. Easy target.

10. Talking quietly or slowly when I'm excited. Or just in general.

11. Packing light.

12. Eating chocolate without getting it on my clothes. I swear, no matter how careful I am, there WILL be a piece on my pants and it will smudge and make a mess.

13. Yoga.

14. Yard work. Anything "green thumb" related, count me out. Maybe it's not that I'm bad at it but just that there isn't one ounce of being in me that cares AT ALL what our yard looks like. Notta.

15. Knowing street names in my own city. I can get there, I just can't tell YOU how to get there.

TGIF and Go Big Blue!!!

I just heard this song for the first time the other day and now I have it on repeat. It's so cute! Give it a listen!

  1. UMMMM yes! I knew from #1 that we would have a lot of this list in common. Like this morning, I got in my car, drove away and then realized I forgot something...I did that THREE times!

  3. I have a horrible memory too! I am always forgetting things, it is pretty frustrating. I have tons of reminders set in my phone ha ha.
I have common sense for the most part, I just don't always think about what I say before I say it. Thus, I've said some pretty dumb things.
    What a great list :)
