Get Fit ~ August Goals

I got this email from MapMyRun yesterday...

Now, that's 100 workouts since I joined MapMyRun over a year ago. So, it sounds awesome. But, it's not really that impressive.

BUT... I still thought it was appropriate because I'm FINALLY back on track with my #GetFit goals.

It started back in January and February when I set running goals. Then there was the injury that cost me March - May.

Now I'm finally back to running regularly (albeit short distances at the moment) and have started my strength training sessions 2-3 times a week!

I feel like I got my groove back and this email was just the extra high-five I needed!

Side Note: I think 10k's may be cursed for me. I considered my first one last year but then life got in the way. Then I signed up for one this year and the injury ruled it out. Maybe I'm not meant to run a 10k? For now I'll just stick to running for enjoyment and exercise, and if a 10k is in my future, we'll cross the bridge when it comes.

Anywho.. back to the goals! Here's my last 4 weeks since I've started back...

Do you like how I threw the "Out of Town" in there to make an excuse for why I went 6 days without anything?

Yes, I should have done SOMETHING (I brought workout stuff for goodness sake). But, in my defense, we walked a LOT in California. Like at least a mile a day if not more, so at least I wasn't totally sedentary.

On the 6th, that was a mile run followed by four .25 mile hill sprints. That was fun.

So in 4 weeks I did 11 runs and 6 strength sessions.

Reminder of  Previous Goals:
January: 10 runs, 4 strength
February: 11 runs, 5 strength

So even with the hiatus, I'm feeling good about where I'm at! With that being said, let's set some August goals shall we?

I'm out of town 15 days in August. Holy monkey. That's half the month. So, I need to tone down my goals. A full week is my work event in Boston so I will have zero time to do anything. With that in mind...

August 2014 Goals
Runs: 8
Strength: 6

Let's do this! And remember....

The winner of the R Brand Beauty lip gloss is....Kenzie! Congrats!

Have a great weekend guys!

  1. Congrats on your 100th workout! I still need to get my butt in gear and start. Ugh. Maybe I should do that while I am child-less for the next hour or so.. I'm super excited about winning the giveaway! Have a wonderful weekend!
