New Years Eve in New Orleans

I love New Years Eve. Just something about that holiday is so magical to me. It's a the end of a year and the beginning of something bigger and better. It's suppose to be fabulous. And this year it was.

We spend NYE in NOLA and it was a blast. It was such a blast the first night, that we were all a bit struggling the rest of the time. :)

Tim and I went with another couple and man, it's so fun going with your friends! The French Quarter is like this little piece of Europe smack dab in the middle of a modern city. It's so rich with culture and history.

And the open container law isn't too shabby either.

Fried Alligator. I felt bad... I love alligators. :(
I asked the server if they were humanely raised and he looked at me like I was crazy.

The boys tried the famous NOLA drink, the Sazerac, and both hated it.

Rotating Bar at Hotel Monteleone.

Felix Oyster House.

Cooked oysters. I don't mess with the things but the boys loved them.

I was bummed that my Bourbon Street sign was blurry. But then I thought it was an accurate representation of the night, so there's that.

Love these guys.

We did a walking tour of the French Quarter and one of the cemeteries.

Nicholas Cage bought this tomb for 250k to be his final resting place. Weirdo.

New Years Eve!

Cafe du Monde for some beignets! YUMMM!

We were on Bourbon street during the Sugar Bowl.

It was such a blast! We can't wait to go back!

  5. Looks like so much fun! I wonder how good of an idea a rotating bar would be if you'd had too much to drink? Ha ha!
